How to become ECSS member

In order to become an ECSS member we kindly ask you to generate your ECSS account first. Once you have generated your ECSS account you will have the opportunity to pay your ECSS membership fee and have access to your membership benefits. To generate your ECSS account click here.

Membership of the College is divided into the following categories:

ECSS Student Member

Student members are undergraduate or graduate students in the field of Sport Science, Medicine, Health, Physical Education or in other disciplines. They shall be entitled to all privileges of the College except holding office.

ECSS Member

The qualification for the membership is a university level degree (master’s or doctor’s degree, university examination) in the field of sport science, medicine, health, physical education or an equivalent university degree in other related areas.

ECSS Fellow (FECSS)

ECSS Fellows shall have made a significant contribution to the development of Sport Science through research. They receive approval by the ECSS after having applied for fellowship by submitting their 2 page CV and a publication list of the last 5 years. All applicants shall meet the following criteria:

all applicants shall have obtained a Doctor’s degree
all applicants shall have been a member of the ECSS for at least three years
all applicants shall have 5 international publications including 2 as first author within the last 5 years
all applicants shall present two independent recommendations from ECSS members

Applications meeting the above mentioned criteria shall be sent to the ECSS Office at FECSS application.

ECSS Membership Fees

Students: 40 EURO per calendar year
Members: 85 EURO per calendar year
Fellows: 100 EURO per calendar year

Membership Duration

The ECSS membership is an annual membership valid for one calendar year. Your membership is not prolonged automatically but will be cancelled at the end of each calendar year if not indicated elsewise via email send to the ECSS Office. Reminders including payment instructions will be sent to you towards the end of each calendar year to enable you to continue your membership and ensure the consecutive reception of your issues of the European Journal of Sport Science.

Membership Payment

Payment is possible via the ECSS membership account by Visacard, Mastercard and Maestro.
